Research Assistant

Statistics Collaborative, Inc. is a small, biostatistics consulting firm partnering in medical research. We are located in downtown Washington, D.C., close to the Dupont Circle Metro station. We collaborate with researchers in industry and government to provide statistical guidance and support primarily for clinical trials, but also for epidemiological and pre-clinical studies. We aim to help our clients design, monitor, and analyze studies to address research hypotheses with scientific rigor and statistical validity.

We have an opening for an entry level Research Assistant with a BA or BS with some coursework in a natural science (e.g., biology, chemistry, or physics) or experimental psychology. Under the supervision of Project Managers, the Research Assistant provides administrative support for projects, including but not limited to:

  • Organizing and maintaining confidential project materials
  • Editing and producing reports containing data analyses and descriptions
  • Ensuring quality control of reports and other documents
  • Coordinating the release of materials to clients
  • Communicating with clients and other external parties
  • Arranging internal and external meetings and drafting minutes

Attention to detail, accuracy, initiative, excellent written and oral communication skills, and scientific curiosity are essential, as well as the ability to juggle several complex projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Word® and other MS Office® applications is helpful. A Research Assistant who is successful at Statistics Collaborative is a project team member who develops a deep understanding of the clinical trial and our responsibilities related to that trial, and who has the ability to take on more responsibility within and across projects. This is an entry-level position (0-2 years of experience) with opportunity for growth.
